June 12, 2025 – Tampa, Florida — Water 4 Mercy, a nonprofit organization pioneering sustainable solutions to end thirst, hunger, and poverty in Africa, is proud to announce it has received Special Accreditation from the United Nations to attend the 2026 UN Water Conference, co-hosted by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Senegal to be held from December 2–4, 2026, in the UAE.
This recognition places Water 4 Mercy among a select group of organizations acknowledged for their vital contributions to solving global water challenges. The 2026 UN Water Conference will convene leaders, innovators, and NGOs from around the world to accelerate progress toward Sustainable Development Goal 6 (SDG 6) — ensuring access to clean water and sanitation for all.
“It is a profound honor to be recognized by the United Nations,” said Nermine Khouzam Rubin, Founder and CEO of Water 4 Mercy. “This accreditation affirms that our mission and model are part of the global solution. We’re committed to bringing scalable, lasting change — and this platform gives us the ability to amplify the voices of the communities we serve.”
Water 4 Mercy’s mission is rooted in dignity, sustainability, and empowerment. Through strategic partnerships with Non-governmental organizations (NGO’s) such as Innovation:Africa and CultivAid, and its creation of AITeC – the Agricultural Innovation and Technology Centers to transfer proven water and agricultural solutions, Water 4 Mercy has developed a replicable model that combines solar-powered clean water access, growing nutritious foods and teaching sustainable agriculture via education and vocational training.
Water 4 Mercy’s holistic approach is OPTIMAL! Transforming entire villages from scarcity to self-reliance. Water systems are only the beginning. Once clean water flows, nutritious foods are grown with drip irrigation and proven farming solutions turn dusty fields into food-secure, income-generating land, bringing dignity and opportunity to thousands. Through AITeC, Water 4 Mercy is growing a new generation of experts for the future of food and nutritional security.
Water 4 Mercy’s selection for Special Accreditation by the UN reflects the measurable, life-changing results its model has delivered with their world-renowned team. While session details for the conference are still pending, Water 4 Mercy looks forward to sharing its results, approach, and insights with the global community.
“This opportunity allows us to connect, collaborate, and advocate at the highest level,” Rubin added. “We’re not just giving water — we’re giving people the tools to transform their futures, positively impacting generations to come.”
The 2026 UN Water Conference marks a critical milestone in global water advocacy and is expected to serve as a catalyst for ambitious action and collective commitment. Water 4 Mercy will be a proud voice at the table — representing communities whose lives have been forever changed through access to clean water, nutritious foods, and agricultural training.
